Kruse
Controls, Inc.
was built on a
foundation of PLC programming projects. To this day,
programmable logic controllers are still at the core of the
Kruse Controls, Inc. business. Our programmers can provide
services ranging from small PLC program modifications to full
line control and integration.
All the automation specialists at Kruse Controls, Inc.
are senior level programmers who have been developing PLC
programs for years. Their varied backgrounds provide them with
the experience to tackle any automation project. Their programs
are concise and well documented. Their experience makes them
quick and efficient troubleshooters.
Our programmers are versed in all the programming styles
specified in the IEC 61131 standard. These styles have become an
industry standard and consist of ladder logic, instruction list,
function block, structured text and sequential function chart.
Whether for process control, material handling, data collection
purposes or other, Kruse Controls, Inc. can provide
efficient and effective PLC programming services using a variety
of PLC brands and types. and types.

Project Examples
Control System for
aluminum web anodizing line
with database server
interface

SUMMARY:
The anodizing line uses a programmable logic controller (PLC)
and a human machine interface workstation (HMI) for process control.
A Microsoft SQL Server database was used for production setup and
process information storage.

Automation of a
dual, 18 cubic yard bucket dredge

SUMMARY:
Four on-board programmable logic controllers (PLCs) were used to automate
starboard and port dredging operations. A human machine interface (HMI) was used
to provide dredge status and to allow manual operation. A global position system
(GPS) was interfaced to the HMI to provide dredge position and to prohibit
operation outside of permitted areas.

Development and
Installation of a batch control system using ISA S88.01
compliant
batch software

SUMMARY:
Used a programmable logic controller (PLC) and batch control
software that is compliant with the ISA S88.01 batch control
standard to control a batch process for a food flavorings
manufacturer.

Control
system development for
five new conveying lines in
bottling plant

SUMMARY:
Used five programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to control table-top conveyors
(for loose bottles) and full-case conveyors (for packaged bottles) for five new
bottling lines.

Control System for three aluminum
web coating lines with
common database server

SUMMARY:
The anodizing line uses a programmable logic controller (PLC) and a human
machine interface workstation (HMI) for process control. A Microsoft SQL Server
database was used for production setup and process information storage.

Juice
Blending/Batching system consisting of a PLC and HMI

SUMMARY:
Designed, developed and installed an automated juice blending
and batching system. The system consists of two batch tanks where
dry ingredients are dissolved in water, six storage/blending tanks
to where the batches are pumped, with additional water and sugar
added. During the packaging process, the liquids are pumped through
proprietary blending systems with the final product being sent
through HTST presses and on to bottling lines.

Gas Fired Hearth Furnace Control System

SUMMARY:
Developed a 20 burner, 7 Zone combustion control system for a steel annealing
rotary Hearth Furnace using PLC control and HMI interface.

Automotive Front
End Assembly

SUMMARY:
Designed, developed and installed a PLC system to control the assembly of front
axel assemblies. The units were assembled on a turntable, with operators
loading, assembling, and unloading according to a strict sequence of operations,
with interlocking verifications.

Gantry Crane Cab
Communications

SUMMARY:
We configured an HMI installed in a gantry crane cab to
communicate with a PLC over spread spectrum radio modems.

PLC
control system for
a cart used to
transfer treated lead components

SUMMARY:
Designed and implemented a PLC control system for a cart used to
transfer treated lead components from a row of ovens to a line of
conveyors for cooling and further processing.

Caulk Tube Filler
Controls

SUMMARY:
A control system was developed combining a PLC, multi-axis
controller, and HMI to control a high-speed caulking tube filling
machine.

Pipeline Pigging and
Leak Detection

SUMMARY:
Pigging Operation for a 10-mile pipeline carrying No.6 Fuel Oil
from the terminal to a Power Plant using PLC’s and Dial-up Modems.
Reports are generated using MS SQL server and Visual Basic data
report designer.

Pipeline Leak
Detection and SCADA System

SUMMARY:
Leak detection and data acquisition for a 6 mile Jet fuel
pipeline using PLC’s and Dial-up modem. Reports are generated using
MS SQL server and Visual Basic data report designer.

Automation of
In-line Filler for Pharmaceutical Industry

SUMMARY:
PLC program development for 2 separate In-line fillers, one for
1.0 to 45 Oz Nasal Spray and the second for Pint size bottles. Also
included OIT and Servo controllers.

Chilled Water
Utility Control

SUMMARY:
Developed PLC coordinated controls to interface the 3 chillers (
2 steam and 1 electric) with the condenser and chilled water pump
package, cooling towers, refrigerant leak detection system ,
delivery point PLC’s, SCADA system, Chemical feed skid and many
other system.

Worked on a
data
acquisition system using Intellution Fix32 HMI Software to
collect,
display and Store Real-time Production Data in the
stamp production
facility

SUMMARY:
The system interfaced an Intellution Fix32 SCADA system to an
Allen-Bradley PLC for collection of the real-time production data.
